Ghana defender Alexander Djiku makes injury return for Fenerbache in win over Besiktas

Ghana international Alexander Djiku made his return for Fenerbache as they cruised to victory over Besiktas in the Turkish Super Liga on Saturday.

The Black Stars defender was in action when his side inflicted a 3-1 away win over their opponent at the Tüpraş Stadyumu.

Djiku started the game and played 83 minutes for his side, delivering an outstanding performance to help Fenerbache snatch maximum points.

The former Strasbourg captain last appearance for Fenerbache was on October 26 against Ludogorets during the Europa Conference League clash.

He has since missed seven games for the Turkish giants as well as the Black Stars November international break games against Madagascar and Comoros.

His return comes as a huge boost for the Black Stars as the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) nears.

Djiku is expected to be included in the squad for the continental showpiece to be staged in Ivory Coast next month.

Meanwhile, his compatriot, Daniel Amartey lasted the entire duration for Besiktas as they succumbed to defeat in the thrilling encounter.
