Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu makes injury return for Southampton in six-goal thriller against Tottenham

Ghana international Mohammed Salisu made his return from injury for Southampton when they faced Tottenham Hotspurs on Saturday.

The Black Stars defender has been out of action for the last six games after suffering an injury during the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on February 11th.

Salisu has been sidelined since the appointment of new manager Ruben Selles, who replaced Nathan Jones after he was sacked by the club.

on Saturday, Salisu returned to action for Southampton in their 3-3 home draw against Tottenham Hotspurs at the St Mary’s Stadium.

Salisu was introduced into the game after just 8 minutes, replacing Armel Bella-Kotchap who picked up an injury.

His return come as a huge boost for the Black Stars ahead of the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers against Angola next week.

Ghana will host Angola on Thursday, March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27, 2023.
