Ghana FA mourns referee Emmanuel Ofei’s death

The Ghana Football Association is saddened by the death of Premier League referee Emmanuel Ofei.

Ofei reportedly died on Tuesday after sustaining injuries in a motor accident in Adukrom in the Eastern Region.

Whiles we await full details of the incident, the thoughts and prayers of the entire GFA membership are with the bereaved family and loved ones at this sad time.

Referee Ofei who officiated the Match day 19 game between Ashantigold and Inter Allies, was regarded as one of the association's promising referees and was selected for the 2017 FIFA referees course.

The GFA and the entire Ghana football family will sorely miss him.May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Meanwhile the GFA has asked for one minute silence to be observed in honor of the late Referee Ofei at all Premier League match venues in today's midweek games.

Referees are also kindly asked to wear black arm bands at today's games.
