The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the payment of allowances for Premier League referees, Match Commissioners, and Referee Assessors up to Matchday 30 of the ongoing season.

This timely payment is part of a special arrangement between the GFA Secretariat and the Referees body to ensure that allowances are cleared after every four weeks of matches.

Currently, only the allowance for Matchday 31 remains outstanding. However, the GFA has revealed that plans are already in motion to settle all outstanding allowances from Matchday 31 to Matchday 34 immediately after the final round of matches.

The GFA says the decision to prioritize the prompt payment of referees' allowances is aimed at providing them with the necessary financial support during the crucial stages of the season.

Recognizing the demanding nature of their role, the GFA aims to ensure that referees can focus on officiating matches effectively without any undue financial burden.

“The decision to pay referees allowance on time is to give them the needed financial boost in the business end of the season,” a statement said.
