Ghana football awards 2019: full list of winners on the night

The Marriot City Hotel in Accra hosted the 2019 Ghana Football Awards on Sunday, July 21, 2019, with several top performers of the sports taking home various awards for their outstanding performance during the 2018/2019 season.

Though, just the second edition of its kind, the ceremony lived up to expectations and awarded sportsmen for their exploits in the previous season.

At the end of it all, Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Teye Partey picked up the biggest honour after emerging as the football of the year.

In addition to that, the player was also named the foreign-based player of the year following his impressive season with Atlético Madrid in the Spanish La Liga where they finished second behind FC Barcelona.

Former Kotoko head coach CK Akonnor won the manager of the year award with Felix Annan, Abdul Fatawu Safiu, Joseph Esso and Mukarama Abdulai also picking up various awards.

Living Legends Awards - Wilberforce Mfum

Home-based player of the year - Abdul Fatawu Safiu (Asante Kotoko)

Team of the year - Asante Kotoko

Goalkeeper of the Year - Felix Annan (Asante Kotoko)

Best Foreign Player of the Year - Thomas Partey (Atlético Madrid)

Thumbs-Up Award - Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG)

Women’s Player of the Year - Mukarama Abdulai (Black Queens and Northern Ladies)

Future Star Award - Mukarama Abdulai (Black Queens and Northern Ladies)

Best Goal of the year - Joseph Esso’s Goal v Dreams FC
