Ghana Premier League giant, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been awarded with the team of the year accolade at the Ghana Football Awards ceremony held at the Marriott City Hotel today.
The award ceremony is to reward actors of the sports for their outstanding performance during the 2018/2019 season.
The Porcupine Warriors has emerged as the winners of the team of the year category for their stellar camping in the last edition of the CAF Confederations cup.
In addition to that, the club managed to beat Karela United in the finals of the tier 1 of the recently organized Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition which has, in turn, qualified them for the upcoming CAF Champions League season.
Kotoko beat strong competition from arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and the National Women’s U-17 team (the Black Maidens) to clinch the award on the night.
