Ghana football is in capable hands under Kurt Okraku - Isaac Asiamah

The Minister for Youth, Sports, and Culture, Hon. Isaac Asiamah has revealed that he believes the football in the country is in good hands under the Kurt Okraku-led Ghana Football Association (GFA) during this difficult period of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.

The sport in the country has been on hold for the last 3 months as a precautionary measure against the spread of the deadly disease.

Last Sunday, the hopes of the football fraternity of seeing the return of the sport were crushed when President Akufo Addo announced the extension on the ban on public gatherings including sporting activities.

That has raised a lot of concerns with many piling pressure on President of the Ghana FA, Kurt Okraku to cancel the 2019/2020 season and start thinking about starting a new one when the Covid-19 crisis is no more.

At a press briefing in Accra today, Hon. Isaac Asiamah has expressed optimism in the current GFA as he indicates that he is confident the leaders will have things in place should government paves way for football to resume.

"Our football is in the hands of capable individuals. The Fa led by Kurt E.S Okraku has the capacity to put something together if we get the green light to continue with football in the country", the Sports Minister said.
