Ghana forward has extended his consecutive games record in the Spanish La Liga after featuring in Athletic Bilbao’s home defeat to Espanyol on Sunday.

The new Black Stars striker sprained his ankle, his first injury since 2016 last Monday when Bilbao inflicted a 4-0 win over the home team.

He scored the opening goal and missed a penalty before he was forced off the pitch. He was substituted in the 54th minute.

But the 28-year-old overcame the injury to feature for Bilbao, extending his record in the Spanish top-flight.

Inaki Williams have extended his record by making 237 consecutive appearances.

He started and lasted 71 minutes of the home game before being substituted as Bilbao fell to a 1-0 defeat.
