Ghana is set to take on Japan and Chile in friendly matches as part of preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The national team, the Black Stars secured qualification for the world cup in March after overcoming rivals Nigeria in the playoff round of the African qualifiers.

Now set to represent the continent at this year’s mundial scheduled to be staged in Qatar, the Ghana FA is putting things in place to ensure the team is properly prepared.

Information gathered this week indicates that an agreement has been reached for the Black Stars to play Japan and Chile in separate friendly matches.

The two matches will be played after Ghana clears the first phase of the qualifiers for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The two AFCON qualifying matches are scheduled to be staged in June. The first against Madagascar will be played on June 1 before the second against the Central Africa Republic.

The Black Stars will be targeting wins from the two games to take an early advantage in the qualifiers.
