In-form Ghanaian winger Solomon Asante bagged his 16th goal of the season for Phoenix Rising in their 2-1 victory El Paso 2-1 in the United Soccer League.

Asante put up a scintillating performance and scored as his side recorded their 13th successive wins on Saturday.

Phoenix Rising took the lead in 21st minute of the game through Jose Aguinaga's strike after dominating a large part of the game.

However, Edson Partida levelled for El Paso in the 26th-minute to ensure both teams share the spoils at half time.

El Paso were able to do what most teams have failed to do in the past 12 games against Phoenix Rising by holding them at bay.

However, their defensive solidity was penetrated after Ghanaian forward placed his artful penalty beyond goalkeeper Logan Ketterrer in the 73rd minute.

The former TP Mazembe winger lasted the entire duration of the game.

The 28-year-old has now scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists for Phoenix Rising in the on-going season.

Due to his impressive performances, he has been nominated for the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
