Giants Asante Kotoko have dismissed reports linking Amed Toure to the club following his scintillating start to the league.

Last week, reports in the media suggested that the Porcupine Warriors have made Bechem United striker Ahmed Toure their number one target after his strong start to the Ghana premier league campaign.

However, according to the club’s management, there has not been contact with the poacher, who left club after the 2014/15 league season.

The Burkinabe striker first joined Asante Kotoko in the 2005/06 season and helped the club to win the premier league title before leaving to join Belgian side Lokeren.

He then returned to the club in the second round of 2011/12 season, where he finished the season with 12 goals, and won the Premier League Board (PLB) Player of the Season Award.

Toure left the Kumasi-based club afterwards only to return at the start of the 2014/15 season, and signed a three-year deal with the club but left acrimoniously just after his blistering start to the campaign.

Toure has scored five goals from 8 appearances for the Hunters in the league.
