Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan meets Zimbabwean President Mnangagwa

Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The former Ghana international is currently in South Africa building meaningful partnerships to advance the well-being of young people in Ghana and beyond.

However, the all-time top scorer for Ghana seized the opportunity to hold Productive discussion with Zimbabwe leader at State House in Harare.

"Over the past few days, I've spent my time in Southern Africa building meaningful partnerships to advance the well-being of young people in Ghana and beyond. It was an honour to meet President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House Harare to discuss Africa's future. Proud to have had the opportunity," Gyan shared following the meeting.

President Mnangagwa also expressed his delight at hosting the iconic Ghanaian former footballer.

“It was an honour to receive Asamoah Gyan at State House today. His remarkable career and leadership on the field have inspired millions across Africa. We discussed the power of sports in uniting nations and promoting youth development” he said.

Gyan, since announcing his retirement from football has been embarking on a lot of projects including the All Regional Games, which has been slated for November 2024.

The former Black Stars skipper was recently named as the leader of Dr. Bawumia’s manifesto committee.
