Ghana international, Kwadwo Asamoah suffered an ankle bruise during Inter Milan's 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup final over the weekend.

The former Udinese Calcio star is undergoing observation as concerns grow over the latest setback, just days before the start of the Serie A season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 29-year-old endured pain after helping the side edged past Atletico Madrid 1-0 to clinch the International Champions Cup.

However, it's been reported that he suffered only an ankle bruise and will not take long to recover.

His condition will be monitored over the coming days and will likely be fit in time for their Serie A opening game at Sassuolo on Sunday.

Asamoah is all familiar with injuries, after enduring a hellish and nightmarish time in the treatment room over the years.

The skilful midfielder joined the former UEFA Champions League winner this summer after ending his six-year stint at Juventus, where he won several titles.

He has quickly established himself in Luciano Spalleti's squad, exerting his influence and showcasing his unique talent in pre-season.

The Ghanaian has enjoyed a terrific pre-season with the Nerazzurri, showing immense work ethics and becoming a staple of the Inter side ahead of the new campaign.
