Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has aggravated his injury at RSC Anderlecht after he was forced to feature during the game against Gent on Monday.

The Black Stars asset has been nursing an injury in Belgium but his club needed his services yesterday during the domestic cup final.

Pushed to the wall as his team chased a win to lift the silverware at stake, RSC Anderlecht manager Vincent Kompany decided to gamble to bring on Majeed Ashimeru in the 58th minute.

Unfortunately, the player felt discomfort and had to be substituted in the 76th minute.

He was spotted sobbing in his jersey as his team’s medical team escorted him off the pitch.

Unfortunately for the injured Majeed Ashimeru, his teammates that finished the game after extra-time fell short during the penalty shootout.

As a result, Black Stars midfielder Elisha Owusu won the Belgian Cup with his KAA Gent side.
