Ghana Premier League matchday 8 report: Asante Kotoko take a point at Sogakope

Published on: 05 February 2020

Kotoko have now recorded two draws in a row after they were held by the Academy boys to a 0-0 stalemate at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.

The Porcupine Warriors traveled to the Red Bull Arena in search of their first ever win but only managed to come away with a point.

WAFA was the livelier side in the first half and created great opportunities to score but their poor finishing and the intervention of Kwame Baah kept Kotoko in the game.

It was more of the same in the second half. The hosts almost went ahead in the 53rd minute but Kwame Baah once again showed his heroics with a fantastic save.

Kotoko did have a penalty appeal denied by the referee in the dying embers of the game, leaving the fans in distraught.

Kotoko have now amassed 14 points and are in third place whilst WAFA places 6th with 13 points.
