Karela were at the front foot in the opening exchanges. They were taking the game to the Mauve and Yellows and found the breakthrough at the half hour mark.

Diawisie Taylor headed the ball past the Medeama goalkeeper and into the net. He has now scored three goals in his last three Ghana Premier League matches. Karela went into the half time break with a surprising lead.

In the second half, Medeama attacked with urgency but had to wait until the 84th minute to get their equalizer. Prince Opoku Agyemang marked his return from suspension with a well-placed header in the net.
