Ghana are still favourites to qualify from this group, says Uganda coach Mulitin

Uganda coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic says Ghana are still favourites to qualify from their group despite their shock goalless draw with his team.

The Black Stars began their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign on a bad note as they drew goalless with Uganda at the Tamale Stadium on Friday.

The Cranes leave the West African country with a point, just as they did in their last visit in a 2015 Afcon qualifier.

Uganda coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic noted that, Ghana is a power house in Africa football and believes they stand a better chance than his team and the other teams in Group E.

'For me personally with all due respect to Egypt, Ghana are still favourites of this group, you just saw the performance, they just didn't score but played very well,' he said

'Please have mercy on them, they are coming from different time zones and it wasn't easy for them to play in this hostile and hot weather.

'So for me Ghana are still favourites but they need to pick up from the scratch and work very hard because it will not be easy to go to Egypt in November.'

Ghana are in Group E of the qualifying campaign with Uganda, Egypt and Congo.
