Ghana striker Inaki Williams finally misses a La Liga match after 251 consecutive games

Ghana international, Inaki Williams is not in the matchday squad of Athletic Bilbao today for the team’s encounter against Celta Vigo in the Spanish La Liga.

His absence which is a big blow for the club is the first time he is missing a game since April 2016.

In that period, Inaki Williams played a staggering 251 consecutive games as he set a La Liga record in the process for the most consecutive appearances.

After six years and 251 consecutive games, the highly-rated forward is missing a game due to a muscle injury.

His club, Athletic Bilbao are hoping to beat Celta Vigo this evening in his absence.

Inaki Williams, 28, last missed a game on April 7, 2016, when he was absent for the clash against Malaga.

This season, the forward has made 18 appearances for Bilbao where he has scored five goals and provided one assist.
