Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah will be out for four to five weeks after sustaining an injury which saw him miss AFC Winbledon’s 1-0 defeat to Southend in the English Championship.

The injury prone Ghanaian attacker could not play the game in midweek following the set back. The former Crystal Palace forward was beginning to find form before injuring himself again.

Manager Neil Ardley confirmed after the defeat in midweek the play has undergone scans which proved he will be out for about a month.

“It is not his hamstring muscle, it is his tendons, and the chances are it is going to be four or five weeks,” said Ardley, speaking to the Dons’ club website.

“It is a blow because his symptoms had settled down a bit and we thought it may just be two or three weeks, but we just have to try to get him back and rely on the rest of the squad to take us forward.”

Appiah has not featured for the senior national team of Ghana since 2015 due to persistent injuries.
