Black Starlets Captain Eric Ayiah has been nominated for the CAF young player of the year award following his remarkable performances at the Africa Junior Championships and the FIFA U-17 World Cup this year.

The 17 year old will be competing for the accolade with Senegalese youngster Krepin Diatt, Luther Singh of South Africa, Zambia’s Patson Daka and Salam Giddou of Mali.

Eric Ayiah was joint top scorer at the Africa Junior Champions in Gabon earlier this year before helping Ghana to a quarter final finish at the FIFA under-17 world cup in India, in October.

Eric Ayiah's performances has seen him touted as one of the best 60 young players in the World by news outlet the Guardian.

Having lost out on the same award last year, the youngster will hope to beat off competition from his rivals to win the award.

The Ghana Youth star has been linked with several to European clubs with Udinese showing interest in the young attacker.
