Ghana v Qatar report: Black Stars power to a 5-1 victory

Published on: 12 October 2020

CK Akonnor's side made amends for their awful performance on Friday to grab a convincing 5-1 win over Qatar.

Ghana found the opener just minutes before the half hour mark. Jordan Ayew did great work in the box to unleash a shot which was saved but Tariqe Fosu was there to convert the rebound. That is his debut goal for the team.

Just before half time, Abdullah capitalized on a huge communication gap from Razak Ablalora and Joseph Aidoo to get the equalizer.

In the second half, the Black Stars started strongly and got the second goal after a brilliant Partey pass found Andre Ayew who provided the finishing touch.

A few minutes later, Partey found Samuel Owusu with a great long ball and the winger expertly found the net. The Black Stars maintained their dominance and got another goal in the 83rd minute through Andre Ayew who finished off a feed from his brother Jordan.

Caleb Ekuban made it five with just a few minutes left to go to give the team a big victory.

The players will now return to their clubs.
