In the Northern Zone, Ampem Darkoa Ladies have clinched the zonal title with three games to spare - after going eleven matches without defeat and opening an 11 point gap in the Zone.

The winners will take on Prisons Ladies at the Ohene Ameyaw Park at Techiman on match day 12.  This is the full preview of matches in the Northern Zone.

Northern Ladies vs Fabulous Ladies

Bottom Club, Fabulous Ladies and Northern Ladies will battle it out for three points on match day 12 of the Women's Premier League at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale. The two sides are struggling in the league with Northern Ladies in 5th place with 11 points and Fabulous Ladies sitting at the foot of the table with 7points.  Fabulous Ladies lost at home to rivals Ashtown Ladies on match day 11 by two goals to one - Whilst Northern Ladies’ drooped points away to rivals Pearl Pia Ladies in a derby that ended abruptly. Northern Ladies have won only one game at home this season and they are currently chasing their second home win. With three matches to end the campaign, Fabulous Ladies are yet to win an away game this season making survival a difficult one. Both Northern Ladies and Fabulous Ladies are desperate for a win in this game as both teams push for a win to boost their position in the league table. The first meeting between these two sides ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

Kumasi Sports Academy vs Supreme Ladies

All roads lead to the Okese Park, Ejisu as Kumasi Sports Academy host city rivals Supreme Ladies on match day 12 of Women’s Premier League this weekend. KUSA will look back at Week 11 and smile following a crucial 1-0 away win against Prisons ladies at the Sunyani Coronation Park. The win did not only tighten their grip on the 2nd position but also served as a morale booster coming into this crunch derby against their city rivals. Supreme Ladies began the season on a sound note but have been sluggish in recent outings. Their first round encounter ended 3-2 in favour of Kumasi Sports Academy with goals from Joyce Larbi and Favor Fosua Anane grabbing a brace.  Striker Sandra Owusu Ansah got all two goals for Supreme Ladies.

Ashtown Ladies vs Pearl Pia Ladies

Ashtown ladies have a date with Pearl Pia ladies at the WESCO Park on Saturday. This fixture looks very cagey on paper fir many reason – as the first round tie ended 1-1 in Tamale. Pearl Pia Ladies would come into the game with a winning mentality in their push to avoid relegation and also not to allow bottom placed Fabulous Ladies to close the gap in terms of point build up.  Ashtown Ladies who are 3rd on the league table are two points adrift, 2nd placed Kumasi Sports Academy and would not want to miss out on the game to close the gap. Their meeting in the first round of the league ended one-all with goals from Alhassan Basira (Pearl Pia Ladies) and Comfort Baah Nuako ( Ashtown Ladies).

Ampem Darkoa Ladies vs Prison Ladies

Ampem Darkoa Ladies rounded up the Northern Zone League title with two games to spare after the stellar performance against Supreme Ladies last weekend. The Techiman side recorded a 3-1 win over their opponents to open an 11 points gap at the top of the table – and with only three games to end the Zonal League none of the clubs can catch up. That notwithstanding, the match day 12 tie against Prisons Ladies on Saturday will be keenly contested for the pride and bragging right knowing that Prisons Ladies often dominate the fixture. Prisons Ladies on the other hand are coming from a hard luck loss to Kumasi Sports Academy and would need the points to solidify their stay in the top four. They suffered a 1-0 loss in the first round to Ampem Darkoa Ladies at the Sunyani Coronation Park courtesy a 58th minute goal from Tracy Twum and the ‘service ladies’ will leave no stone unturned to avenge revenge the first round defeat.
