Frimpong Manso, a former Ghana international, has said the country dominated FIFA youth tournament as a result of age cheating.

German trainer, Otto Pfister led Ghana to win the FIFA U -17 World Cup in 1991 and repeated the feat in 1995.

However, the country has struggled to win any FIFA youth tournament in recent years since the introduction of the Magnetic Resonance Imagery scan (MRI) to detect overage players.

Speaking on the 25th anniversary of Ghana’s U – 17 World Cup triumph in 1995 in Ecuador, the former Asante Kotoko coach says Ghana dominated youth tournament with over-aged players.

“In the olden days, we used over-aged players for the U17 competitions and we are now suffering in the long run," he told Accra based Happy FM.

"Back then there was no MRI to check the real age of players so we used over-aged players,”
