Ghanaian defender Harrison Afful nominated for Acura MVP Award

Ghana and Columbus Crew defender Harrison Afful has been nominated for the Acura Most Valuable Player of the match after his five-star performances for his side at home to New York City FC in the MLS.

The versatile full-back scored an equalizer for Columbus in their 2-1 win at the Mapfre stadium.

The ex-Kotoko player impressive display this season at both ends of the pitch has seen him nominated for the best performing player on the field.

The 32-year-old battles Justin Meram, Pedro Santos and Gyasi Zardes for the MVP award subjected to public votes.

An official tweet from his MLS side subjected the four players to public selection ahead of declaration later on Monday.
