Ghanaian duo Agbenyenu and Mohammed feature as Real Mallorca beat Eibar on La Liga return

Ghanaian pair Baba Mohammed and Lumor Agbenyenu put incredible performances for Mallorca as they defeated Eibar 2-1 in the Spanish La Liga opener on Saturday.

Real Mallorca, who are making a return to the Spanish top-flight in eight years took a deserving 1-0 lead courtesy Daniel Rodríguez’s 4th-minute strike.

After the recess, a much improved Eibar equalised in 59th minute through Paulo Oliveira strike.

Olivieira’s went from hero to zero after scoring an own goal in the 75th minute which turned out to be the winning goal for Real Mallorca as the game finished 2-1.

Baba and Lumor were one of the standout players for the newly-promoted side as they lasted the entire duration of the game.

Lumor joined the Spanish side on a season-long loan deal from Portuguese side Sporting CP while Baba was a key contributor in the team that won promotion from the Segunda Division last term.
