Ghanaian forward Kwabena Owusu delighted to join Qarabağ FK

Ghanaian forward Kwabena Owusu has expressed his delight after joining Azerbaijani giants Qarabağ FK in the on-going January transfer window.

The 22-year-old penned a three a half year deal with the club from Spanish side Leganes after passing his mandatory medicals and completing the formalities.

Speaking to the club's official website, Owusu expressed his happiness and revealed what attracted him to join the club.

"I am happy to come to "Karabakh","he said. "I wanted to play in a club that represented both the Champions League and the Europa League,' he added.

"I hope everything will be good for me.I understand that I have come to Azerbaijan for six consecutive championships and my fans are expecting more goals from me. I will do my best.

"When I received an offer from "Karabakh" I never knew it. I knew that he played in the Champions League two years ago.

"And it was my dream to play in such a club, and I was very happy when the offer came.I'm a young footballer and this offer is a great opportunity for me.

"I don't say anything about my personal goal, I think the best is to show it on the pitch.I know the fans are thinking now how I am a footballer. I hope I love them with my game."

The highly-rated youngster spent the first half of the season at Segunda Division side Cordoba, where he scored six goals in 17 appearances.
