Austrian side Blaus Weiss Linz have completed the signing of Ghanaian forward Paul Mensah in the ongoing winter transfer window.

Mensah joins the second-tier outfit on a one-year deal with an option for a further year.

Last season, the 22-year-old moved to Romania to join Bastoni but returned to Austria after making only two appearances across all competitions for Botosani.

"I'm very happy to be here. I've been following the club closely since leaving Kapfenberg and despite other requests, I was dying to come here. And I will work hard to help the club achieve their goals," Mensah said after putting pen to paper.

BW Linz sports Director Tino Wawra added, "I wanted to get Paul from Kapfenberg a year ago, he was one of the most interesting players in league 2. I didn't have a chance back then because he also had offers from the Bundesliga. Unfortunately, he opted for an adventure abroad decided and was never happy."

"Now he's back on my radar and I'm happy he chose us. He brings extreme speed and is physically strong. A really unpleasant player for any opponent."

Mensah will wear jersey number 10, taking over from compatriot Raphael Dwamena.
