Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko appoint Orlando Wellington as assistant coach

Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced the appointment of Orlando Wellington as the club's new assistant coach.

The experienced trainer is expected to team up with the technical team led by Burkinabe coach Seydou Zerbo.

He joins the Porcupine Warriors as the assistant coach to Seydou Zerbo as they seek to make impact in the 2022/23 season.

“We are delighted to welcome on board Coach ORLANDO WELLINGTON as first team assistant coach.” A statement from the club reads.

Wellington has rich experience in the Ghana Premier League after guiding Berekum Chelsea to a historic feat in 2010 after ending the season as Premier League champions.

He was assistant to Sellas Tetteh when the Black Satellites won the 2009 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Wellington has been unattached after leaving his role as head coach of Division One League side Wa Suntaa FC.

He previously had stints with former Ghana Premier League campaigners Heart of Lions.
