Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko to begin pre-season training on August 8

Ghana Premier League champions, Asante Kotoko will officially begin their pre-season training this week.

The Porcupine Warriors announced that preparation for the 2022/23 football season will begin on Monday, August 8 at the Adako Jachie training grounds.

The players are expected to report to training on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the two-time African champions are yet to appoint a new coach after the departure of Prosper Narteh Ogum.

It is said the former WAFA coach has still not handed an official resignation letter to the club but he has requested for contract termination.

Kotoko will be aiming to defend the Ghana Premier League title in the upcoming season and also make impact in the CAF Champions League competition.

The record Ghana Premier League holders will embark on a training tour in Turkey this month. They are expected to depart Ghana on August 15 and return on August 30.

The team will play Nigerian champions Rivers United and other games in the European country before their return to Ghana.

Kotoko have so far announced the signing of Accra Lions goalie Frederick Asare, and Steven Mukwala from Uganda Rivers Authority FC.
