Ghanaian midfielder Ahmed Obeng leaves Tamworth FC; set to join Rushall Olympic

Ghanaian midfielder Ahmed Obeng has parted ways with Tamworth FC and is set to join Southern League Premier Division Central side Rushall Olympic FC, Footballghana.com can exclusively report.

Obeng's contract with the fifth-tier side expired on June 30 and was in talks over a new contract, but the deal fell through.

Manager Bob Andrews considered the Ghanaian Obeng a valuable senior member of his squad and his ability to play in a number of positions is deemed crucial.

The 28-year-old is set to join Rushall Olympic ahead of next season after successful negotiations, Footballghana.com understands.

He will undergo his mandatory medical in the coming days before he pens a deal with the club.

Obeng joined Tamworth from Leamington FC on a season-long loan deal prior to the start of the 2019/20 season.

He was one of a key cog of the side as he made 20 appearances and scored one goal for Tamworth before the league was cancelled because of coronavirus pandemic.
