Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan will return to parent club Fiorentina at the end of the season, according to reports from Italy.

Duncan is currently on loan at Serie A side Cagliari, where he is enjoying a good spell with the club.

He joined the club in the January transfer window with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the spell.

But the midfielder’s future is uncertain at the club and could return to the Viola when the loan deal expires.

It is believed that the €15m asking price has been the stumbling block as Fiorentina hardly seems willing to grant discounts in order not to budget for losses.

A potential move to Cagliari will only be possible if the two teams sit down and negotiate a new deal.

In the case where he returns to Fiorentina, he will possibly be granted opportunities if there is a new coach at the club. Earning a starting position could be a problem. But, a dependable substitute or rotation player will be the probably outcome.
