Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey returns to RCD Mallorca where it all began

Thomas Partey returns to Mallorca, the place where he debuted as a professional. He was only 20 years old when the vermilion club noticed a kid who played in the red and white subsidiary and pointed many ways.

The Balearic team was in the Second Division, and the Ghanaian decided to leave on loan from a team that, that season, would be proclaimed champion of the League but where they were very aware of their evolutions.

That course 13/14, under the orders of José Luis Oltra , Thomas showed that he could be an important man in football. He played 37 League and one Cup games in which he scored five goals and gave two assists.

More than 3,000 minutes of play accumulated in a year that served him to then arrive at Almeria , already in the First Division. There were only three meetings in which he did not participate (another two were lost due to sanction), being fundamental in the technician's plans.

Thomas left a great memory on the island, to which he returns almost six years later as a player of Atlético de Madrid. Strengthened in the mattress set, more and more counts for Diego Simeone .

Gone are the doubts about his future (the Premier has always had him between eyebrow and eyebrow) and about his worth to be part of the first red and white team.

This season started at a disadvantage compared to his teammates, since when he participated in the Africa Cup, he joined the group just a week before LaLiga began.

But he started in the first two days and in the third, against Eibar , he jumped into the field when there were six minutes left. Enough time to score the goal that gave Atlético the victory . After overcoming some inconvenience that prevented him from traveling to Anoeta, he started against Juve and against Celta had minutes in the second act.

For this Wednesday, he will return to the starting eleven in a stadium that he knows perfectly and in which he took his first steps as a professional.

Without a doubt, without Mallorca, Thomas's career would have been different. And now, the Ghanaian returns to the island where it all began.
