Ghanaian prodigy Arvin Appiah scores twice in Nottingham Forest 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday

Ghanaian prodigy Arvin Appiah bagged a brace for Nottingham Forest U-23 in the English Youth League on Monday.

The Nottingham Forest U-23 side defeated Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at the City Stadium.

English-born of Ghanaian descent scored the opener for the Red and White lads after converting a spot-kick awarded to them on the 31st minute of the game.

Three minutes after the recess, the 17-year-old doubled his side's lead with a wonderful strike before Kieran Hayes' goal on the 79th minute sealed their home victory.

The highly-rated youngster played the full throttle of the game.

He has made three appearances and scored three goals for Nottingham Forest this term.

Appiah netted on his debut for the Nottingham Forest senior side in their 3-2 away win over Burton Albion in the EFL Cup.

He signed a professional contract with Nottingham Forest which runs until 2020 after he was rewarded for his fine performance.

He has featured for the side's U-18 and 23 squads, prompting the English side to tie him down on a permanent basis.
