Ghanaian referees should be bold & protect players - Bechem United winger Augustine Okrah

Bechem United winger Augustine Okrah has urged referees to be bold and protect the players in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Hunters suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Asante Kotoko on match week two at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

However, after the game, Bechem United were not happy with the performance of referee Gabriel Opoku Antwi after he failed to send off Ganiu Ismail for a harsh tackle on Emmanuel Avornyo.

"Nice game today. I was elated to be back to Baba Yara Sports Stadium and thanks to the supporters for the warm reception. Congrats to Kotoko for the win," Okrah tweeted after the game.

"Ghanaian referees should be bold & protect players. Anyway, we will take our chances next time."

Bechem United are now 6th on the league table with three points and will host Elmina Sharks at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on match week three.
