Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye cameos as Red Star Belgrade lose to Bayern Munich in UCL

Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom featured for Red Star Belgrade as thye suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in their UefaChampions League opener on Wednesday night.

With the Red-Whites losing by one goal to nil courtesy Kingsley Coman striker in the first half, Boakye-Yiadom was introduced into the game for Milan Pavkov.

But goals from Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller ensured Bayern Munich picked up all three points at Allianz Arena.

Red Star have now conceded 16 goals in their first four away games in the Champions League, more than any other team in their first four matches in the competition.

Last season, Red Star failed tyo progress to the next stage of the competition after finishing bottom of Group C which comprised of eventual winners Liverpool, PSG, and Napoli.

Currently sitting at the base of Group B, the Ghanaian will be looking to help his side bounce back to winning ways when they host Olympiacos on October 1.

But first, they have to play Partizan Belgrade and FK Macva Sabac in the Serbian SuperLiga.
