Ghanaian tactician Yaw Preko lifts lid on Yaw Annor's Ghana snub for AFCON and World Cup friendlies

Ghanaian tactician Yaw Preko has reacted after in-form Ashanti Gold forward Yaw Annor was included in Ghana's squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and World Cup friendlies.

The 24-year-old has been one of the standout players in the league, scoring four goals in their 5-1 win over Berekum Chelsea on match-week 27 at the Len Clay Stadium.

The four goals increased his goal tally to 16 on the top scoring chat, trailing Asante Kotoko striker Franck Etouga Mbella by three goals with five matches left to play.

"For Yaw Annor, I will give him that opportunity at any given time because he has played outside, he has played in Spain and he understands football per his form and also scoring but the problem is what is surrounding his team now," Yaw Preko told Original 91.9FM.

"I will not be shocked if he earns a call-up for now because he has what it takes as a right-winger. He can do it. I like him because sometimes he reminds me of what I was playing. After all, he is a typical winger. He can do the crossing, he can score when he is playing."

Ghana coach Otto Addo named only two local based players thus Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Augustine Okrah of Bechem United in his 33-man squad.
