Ghanaians call for Asamoah Gyan’s return to Black Stars

After a disastrous campaign at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament by the Black Stars, Ghanaians are now calling for the return of Asamoah Gyan.

The legendary striker after struggling for playing time at the 2019 AFCON missed out on the final 28-man squad Milovan Rajevac named for the 2021 edition in Cameroon.

At the tournament, the Black Stars played with different attackers in different matches but they could not bang in enough goals.

Leaving the team to settle with two defeats and one draw at the end of the three games played in Group C, Ghana suffered elimination from the tournament at the group stage.

Shocked and furious after the team’s exit, some Ghanaians on social media have already signed petitions to have Asamoah Gyan return to the Black Stars team.

Although the country’s all-time leading goal scorer is now old, many believe he will do better than the current strikers in the team.
