Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey featured for Atlético Madrid as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Juventus in their opening Champions League Group D game on Wednesday night.

Partey, who was handed his third start of the season,  played a key role for the Spanish side and lasted for 75 minutes as his side held Serie champions at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

After a goalless first half, Juventus took the lead through Juan Cuadrado strike in the 48th minute after receiving a pass from Gonzalo Higuain.

Blaise Matuidi doubled the visitors lead in the 65th minute before Stefan Savic reduced the deficit five minutes later.

Hector Herrera scored an all-important equaliser in stoppage time to ensure the Red and Whites avoid defeat.

The 26-year-old Ghanaian has made four appearances for Atlético Madrid so far in the 2019/20 season.

He will be hoping for a starting berth in his side’s next league game against Celta de Vigo on Saturday.
