Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt visits Black Meteors team ahead of Cameroon encounter

Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt, Winfred Nii Okai Hammond and his staff paid a visit to the Black Meteors team earlier today ahead of their crunch meeting with Cameroon in the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Ibrahim Tanko and his charges will play their first match of the 2019 edition of the u-23 tournament later tonight as they bid to make it all the way to the finals to ensure qualification to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

The ambassador used the opportunity to give some words of encouragement to the team to inspire them to a good start against their matchday opponent.

At the end of the meeting, staff of the embassy joined in to hold a short ‘Jama’ session with the Black Meteors team.

After today’s assignment with Cameroon, Ghana will go on to face host nation Egypt and Mali to round up the group stage.
