Andre Ayew's Fenerbahçe will play in the UEFA Europa League in the upcoming season after been eliminated by Portuguese side Benfica from the final qualifying round of the Champions League.

The deputy skipper of the Black Stars lasted the entire game as the Turkish giants missed out of Europe’s elite competition before their home fans with a 1-1 stalemate on Tuesday night following their 1-0 deficit in the first leg encounter.

Benfica shot themselves into the lead courtesy Gedson Fernandes's 26th-minute goal but the hosts gave themselves a massive chance as Alper Potuk restored parity for the Turkish side in the 45th minute of the game.

Fenerbahçe pilled on the pressure thereafter but couldn’t find the net as Benfica held on to secure their place in Champions League with a 2-1 aggregate while the Turkish giants settle for a place in the UEFA Europa League.
