Black stars defender Daniel Amartey was in action for English Premier League defending Champions Leicester City on Saturday as they lost 4-1 to Liverpool at the Anfield.

Amartey who played a part in Ghana’s final Afcon qualifier against Rwanda but was overlooked by head Coach Avram Grant in the international Friendly game against Russia during the international break, was handed a start by Claudio Ranieri on Saturday.

The 21 year old was played in a defensive midfield role by Leicester manager Ranieri and lasted the entire duration of the game.

Goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana gave the Reds maximum points while Jamie Vardy’s consolation goal wasn’t enough as a life-line.
