Ghana's Dauda Mohammed fails to net on Europa League debut start for Anderlecht

Ghana international Dauda Mohammed failed to add to his tally on UEFA Europa League  debut start for RSC Anderlecht in their goalless draw against Spartak Trvana on Thursday night.

Anderlecht have endured a difficult campaign in the ongoing UEFA Europa League after picking up just a point from four games prior to Thursday's encounter against the Slovakian champions.

The Belgian giants were hoping to bring some joy to their diehard fans as they seek qualification to the next stage of the competition

With the club having to deal with an injury to key forward Nany Landry Dimata, coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck entrusted the Ghanaian attacker to lead the line after his impressive brief debut appearance in the competition against Turkish giants Fenerbahce last month.

Despite showing his quality in the match, the former Asante Kotoko player could not find the back of the net as the hosts squandered lots of chances in the crucial game.

He lasted the entire duration of the match as well as compatriot Dennis Appiah with France Amuzu playing the final ten minutes of the game.

The 20-year-old will hope to maintain his place in the team when they host KRC Genk at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium on Sunday.
