Black Stars coach Avram Grant is expected to do without his England-based players for the pre-Afcon nonresidential camp in Accra, slated for Wednesday December 28.
The Ghanaian players in England namely; Andre Dede Ayew (West Ham United), Jeffrey Schlupp and Daniel Amartey (Leicester City), Christian Atsu (Newcastle United) and Jordan Ayew of Aston Villa are expected to be released by their respective clubs on December 31 since England does not observe the Christmas break.
The players will however, join the Black stars in their Dubai camping base to trim the rough edges before flying out to Gabon on January 14 for the tournament proper.
Ghana has failed to lift the ultimate gong at stake at the Africa Cup of Nations since 1982 and Avram Grant will be eager to have his best players fit and ready for the challenge.
