Ghana's Gideon Baah bend in beautiful free-kick to send Honka FC to Finish Cup quarter-final

Ghanaian defender Gideon Baah was on target as Honka FC defeated AC Oulun 1-0 in the Finnish Cup on Saturday.

The 27-year-old scored a beautiful free-kick with just five minutes left before the stoppage time to send Honka to the last eight of the competition.

Arlind Sejdiu distracted Alexander Jibrin from fetching his side the opener after blocking his shot with Juhani Pennanen also managing to prevent a shot by Borjas Martin from entering the net.

Just a moment later, the opening paint was also close at the other end. Joni Korhonen hit the ball on David Ramadingayelle’s shot that was headed for the top corner from the right.

In the 30th minute of the game, Aapo Heikkilä got to test inside the penalty area but failed to find the target.

After 42 minutes of thrilling football, Hongan’s Konsta Rasimus had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony, ending the first half barren.

Back from recess, the game became very tough with both teams desperately looking for the opener.

Honka FC who looked more purposeful after failing to score in the early stages of the second half finally saw Heikkilä being fouled  Lucas Kaufmann’s box and Honka were awarded a free kick.

The ball settled in Baah, who shot the ball quite nicely in AC Oulu’s goal post at the bottom corner.
