Bafana Bafana got three points against Ethiopia in their Group G game which was played in South Africa yesterday.

The game took place in front of supporters who were permitted to attend games for the first time since March 2020.

Ethiopia's Getaneh Kebede's own goal in the 11th minute was enough to split the teams and ultimately remove the visitors from the qualifying process.

South Africa presently leads Group G with 10 points from four games, and they are the group's only unbeaten team.

South Africa has a home game against Zimbabwe and an away game against Ghana coming up next month, but neither team will be too concerned with Bafana's performance.

South Africa's victory over Ethiopia was far from convincing.

The Black Stars of Ghana beat Zimbabwe 1-0 through a Thomas Partey free kick in the first half in Harare.
