Ghanaian International, Jordi Osei-Tutu has been left disappointed after he was racially abused on Wednesday during a friendly match between VFL Bochum and St. Gallen.
The young defender who is on loan from English Premier League side Arsenal was racially abused after an altercation with a St. Gallen player.
The player who got upset by the incident has since then received massive support from his mother club, Arsenal and VFL Bochum who have all condemned the act.
Commenting on the incident, the Ghanaian has stressed that it is hard to understand why some players choose to behave disrespectfully against the other.
“I am very disappointed that I was racially abused last night”.
“Nobody should ever be discriminated against and it is really hard to understand how a fellow professional footballer can behave disrespectfully in this way”, the defender.
Jordi Osei Tutu further thanked Arsenal and VFL Bochum for their show off support during such a difficult period.
“Arsenal and VfL Bochum have given me great support and I hope that we can finally demonstrate that racism has no place in football”, he added.
