Ghana striker Raphael Dwamena finally broke his deadlock for Spanish side Levante in their 2-0 win over Lugo in the Copa Del Rey on Thursday.

The 23-year-old raced clear from his side of the pitch with the goalkeeper of the visiting side already committed to sealing the late victory that ensured their progress in the knockout competition.

Dwamena who has been used sporadically by manager Paco López since his move from FC Zürich took advantage of this rare start to establish his credential as a worthy striker for Levante.

The former Liefering forward scored in the 93rd to seal the 3-1 aggregate victory after Coke Andujar scored the opener.

His first goal for Levante helped them qualify to the round of 16 of the competition following their win in the round of 32.

He was deployed in attack for Thursday's game together with his Ghanaian compatriot Emmanuel Boateng to form a solid attack.

However, Boateng was substituted during the match as Levante shored their midfield during the match.
