Ghana’s Thomas Partey ruled out of Atletico Madrid’s match against Real Sociedad

Ghanaian midfield kingpin, Thomas Partey is set to miss Atletico Madrid’s weekend fixture against Real Sociedad in the Spanish La Liga, manager Diego Simeone has revealed.

The hardworking enforcer has reportedly picked up an injury in training and will not be able to feature for the League Leaders who are hoping to bag another three points later today.

Speaking in a pre-match interview, the Argentine tactician shared, “In principle, Thomas and Morata are not going to participate in the San Sebastian game. And Savic has returned well to training and today he finished the training in the best way, so he will surely be among those called”.

Partey’s services will be hugely missed following his impressive start to the 2019/2020 La Lig season.

He netted the winner for the Rojiblancos when they played against Eibar in the weekend prior to the international break.

He is now set for some time on the sideline but will hopefully be available when Atletico open their Uefa Champions League campaign against Juventus on September 18, 2019.
