Though he hasn't featured in many games this season, former Tottenham player turned pundit Glenn Hoddle has praised Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, claiming him to be a "class act".

Speaking onBT Sport'sPremier League Tonight show, he claimed:I think Olivier Giroud looks at times a class act. You can put balls in. Arsenal get in great positions at times but can't get a cross in playing Alexis Sanchez as a false number nine".

The France internationalhas struggled with injury this season, but has found himself sidelinedbehindbothTheo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez, who have both been in fine goal-scoring form for theLondon side so far this season.

At 6'3', the 30-year-old offers something different upfront for the Gunners, and will hope to play an important role as the Premier League carries on into the new year.

Though he finished the season as the club's top goalscorer last season, he now finds his chances of game time even slimmer after the club signedLucas Perez in the summer.

The new signing however, has also endured a stop-start beginning to his career in the Premier League, playing in only three matches in the Premier League so far.

Arsenal were held to a goalless draw at home toMiddlesbrough on Saturday, with Giroud missing out due to a reoccurring injury.

Hecould however,be in line for his first start of the season this week. The London side faceChampionship sideReading on Tuesdayat the Emirates, for round 16 of theFootball League Cup.

Sanchez should start upfront with Giroud benched. The difference is clear
