GN Bank Division One League: Great Olympics, Elmina Sharks and Mighty Royals top Zones at halfway stage

Mighty Royals, Elmina Sharks and Great Olympics top the three zones as the Division One League reached its halfway stage on Sunday.

In Zone I, Royals beat Real Tamale United 2-1 at home to stay on top with five-point lead after closing challengers Berekum Arsenals drew 2-2 at WA Rockets.

FC Tanga moved to third place with a 2-1 home win over Berlin FC.

Elmina Sharks ended the first round without defeat as they beat Venomous Vipers 1-0 on the road to go eight points clear in Zone II.

Second-placed Gold Stars were beaten 3-1 by Achiken.

In Zone III, Great Olympics toppled Okyeman Planners, who drew 0-0 at home with Tema Youth, after beating Danbort 2-0 at home.

The Wonder Club with 31 are now one point better than joint second-placed side Vision FC who beat Nania 1-0.
